The main hashtags I use are #cakedesigner #covidcakes #quarantinebaking #cakeinspo #cakedesigner #cakeartist #cakeideas, #foodporn #baker #cakestagram, and #igcakes, and depending on the theme of the cake I will add in those hashtags to the image, if it's a Fall themed cake I will add #fallcakes. I found these hashtags on other popular bakers photo posts, I like how Instagram shows how many people use that certain hashtag for example #cakeartist has 1.3M post that used that tag. I search tags and see how popular they are, and if they have high usage I will use them on my posts to reach more customers. When I need some inspiration for a cake I will search the theme, for example, #babyshowercake and it will bring up a ton of baby shower cakes, #pinkcake and it will bring up all pink cakes, hashtags are one of my favorite things to use on Instagram, they make a big impact.

I try and post a cake or dessert 2/3 times a week, and on my story daily. It is important for me to stay present and active on my Instagram to keep my followers entertained. I have found that the best times to post are between 11am-1pm and 7pm-9pm, I have also noticed when I post Monday, Tuesday, and Friday I get more interaction with my followers. I schedule my posts every Sunday and set it for the rest of the week, it saves me a lot of time and is one less thing I have to worry about during the weekdays because I get pretty busy with my two jobs and school. I love that Instagram and Facebook have this feature.
