Week 14: Learning from Social Media Analytics
Collecting data for businesses is very important, being able to find out what works and to see what customers like is really helpful to grow my clientele. Google Analytics is one of the main tools used to gather data, such as traffic on your business page, who is visiting, how long they stay on my page, which content do they like the best, and if my content is being shared. With all this information I am able to decide which small commercials of items being offered that week are going to be popular, on Instagram I use insights I have access to all the interactions with my account. I posted a Grinch cake two days ago and I have had 2,000 interactions with it. This lets me know the cake was received well with my followers, and for future reference, I know it will be a good seller. One of the other popular items this winter season is hot chocolate bombs, before I posted them for sale on my baking page I did analytic research on other bakers pages to see the success of the outcome, now I am currently selling them on my baking page and they are selling out quickly. Google Analytics is one of the best tools for small businesses like myself to use with the different features they offer such as Campaign Measurement: Traffic, Track your Goals: Website conversions & user activity, Audience reports: Know your users, Flow visualization: Follow every step, Custom reports: Analytics data, made to order. One of my favorite features is audience reports, it lets me know who my main users are and the type of content they like to see. There are more websites you can use for analytics but google is so far the best I have used, and easy to understand. I will continue to use Google Analytics to keep track of this information to better my content.
